Xmpp with Google Talk or Cisco Unified Personal Communicator

We have two IM solutions.   Both I believe have XMPP support.

Cisco Unified Personal Communicator

Google Talk  (Using Apps for Government)

I use the same user/pw for both, but different XMPP Servers.   In the configuration dialog, it does not seem to allow me to set a server.

I have tried it without a server it was unable to validate.

Although XMPP does allow for IM networks to be connected our to IM networks are not connected. Unlike email it would be nice to have two XMPP providers so I can target both IM networks.

Hi Robert,

Continua currently only supports one XMPP server at a time. We do plan to extend this in the future but I cannot give a timescale for this at the moment.

The server name is specified in the Edit Publisher dialog after the @ symbol in the XmppId field. e.g. user@servername

The problem is that our user name contains an @ symbol.

We’ll add a separate “Server” text box. Meanwhile can you try escaping the @ with \40

e.g. user\40host@server.com

and let us know if that works?

We just uploaded a new build (v1.0.0.2655) with an update to include an additional XMPP server text box
