XCopy doesn't include empty folders when working in recursive mode (/s)

Hi there,

I have found that when I use the XCopy action in recursive mode (/s) to copy the content of a folder and its’ subfolders any that are empty they are not copied to the destination path.

I originally reported this back in April as a problem on FinalBuilder (Case 7206) but it doesn’t seem to have been resolved here either and I’ve just had a look at FB5.5

The suggested work around of adding /E to either the "Extra Params At End" or "Extra Params At Start" properties of the action works but wouldn’t it be better to add this to the options tab.

I had been given to believe that is was going to be resolved at some point.

Any thoughts?

Regards,
Nigel

Hi Nigel,

This feature has been added to the latest FB 5.5 test builds. Sorry, I must have accidentally not emailed you about it.

The test build can be gotten from this URL:

Hi Angus,

Are there plans to add this 'fix' to Automise 2 as well? If so when is the next release planned?

Regards,

Nigel

Hi Nigel,

Sorry! I totally missed that you were using Automise. Must have been distracted by the imminent weekend. Test build coming up.

Here’s an Automise 2 test build which includes the same feature. Sorry again for the delay.

Angus,

I’ve just downloaded the test build and tried the new option on the XCopy action. Works fine now.
Thanks for the quick responce.
Any ideas when the the next official release will be?

Nigel

Hi Nigel,

Great to hear. Not sure about an official release at the moment, but probably not too long.

Angus
