VMWare - Execute Guest Command - Save screen capture

Hi,

I've tried to use the VMWare - Execute Guest Command - Save screen capture action, however I always recieve the following error:

Error: Unrecognized handle property identifier

This is using FB6, along with VMWare Workstation 6.5. When I use VMRun.exe from the command line I can execute the command without a problem. Is this a known issue, are there any special things I need to be aware of when using this command?

Hi Alan,

I haven’t been able to reproduce the error message you received here, though we’re using VMWare Server not workstation. Would you be able to send me the command line options you are passing vmrun.exe from the command line so we can check to make sure they are the same for both server & workstation?

Hi Paul, this is the command line i’m using:

vmrun.exe -T ws -gu Builder -gp Password10 captureScreen “D:\SmokeTest\VMWare\WINXPAutoSmokeTest\Windows XP Professional - AutoSmokeTest.vmx” “%SmokeTestRoot%\Results%ReleaseDescription%-Failure.png”

I am also getting this exact same issue for any command I try to use with this action and vmware workstation. Any update?

 Hi Alan,

Could you please run the attached FB project (you'll need to update the two variables) and let me know whether you have the same problem? The action has been configured so that it will use the exact same command line that you've provided, if you still receive the same error then make sure you've using the same VMRun as you do from the command line.
