"Team Build" add in not loading under VS2008

I just installed FB6. When I launch VS2008 (Pro, under Vista Ult) I get the following error:

The Add-in 'FinalBuilder Team Build Addin' failed to load or caused an exception.

VS2008 asks if I want to remove it by renaming the file, but, when it tries, it can't rename the file.

What's causing the problem, and what do I need to do to fix it?

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your post. There is a bug in the Addin where it fails to load if Team Explorer is not installed. If you answer "No" to the dialog then the Addin will be disabled and you will not see the error again.

In the future, if you install Team Explorer and want to use the Team Build Addin then you can go to Tools -> Addin Manager and enable the "FinalBuilder Team Build Addin" entry.

We will have a new build with a fix for this bug out ASAP. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Regards,

Angus

Try running VS2008 with Admin rights, that’ll at least enable it to rename the file.

That’s correct as well, although if you just say “No” then the Addin will still be disabled (just not removed), so you won’t see the error dialog again.
