Sorting Categories and Actions

Hello,

How do I get the Categories listing alphabetically sorted? Same question for the actions within each categories. Did I miss something?

You can move the action categories up and down using the right mouse on each category… A quicker way is editing the finalbuilder.ini file. The ini file is located in your application data folder and contains a section called [ActionCategories_Order].

A quicker way is editing the finalbuilder.ini file.

Not sure :slight_smile: . You have to manually re-index all entries which is painful. And the action list cannot be sorted anyway.

I’ll post a wish about this.

Hi Patrick,

There is a “Sort Categories” option in the context menu of the Action Types.

Also, if you click the little icon with a down arrow to the right of the Filter, you get a sorted list of categories - click one to go to it instantly.

And another also… start typing the name of the action in the Filter box - normally much quicker to find actions this way. And you can use the up/down arrows to select one, and enter adds it to your build (ie. no mouse required).

Hi,

There is a “Sort Categories” option in the context menu of the Action Types.

Sorry but I don’t see any context menu on the Action Types tab. Do you mean right-clicking the tab itself? I don’t get any context menu in that case. When I right-click inside the Action Types panel, I do get a context menu with

Move Category Up
Move Category Down
Show All Categories
and then the name of all categories.

No “Sort Categories” command.

oops… you’re right, it’s not there (yet…).

Your best bet is to use the sorted popup list of action groups, and/or the action filter.
