Sometime a strange error

Hello,

Sometimes when I run my Finalbuidler Project, a strange error occurs. I use FB 5.0.0.130 en build over 100 Delphi 7 packages in my project. And the error seems to occur on random projects. When the error occurs, the package still builds fine and finalbuilder still continue to build.

Hopefully you can figure out what is going wrong.

Best Regards,

Marco Maes

Hi Marco,

Thanks for reporting this error.

The error is quite odd, and we’ve never seen it before. Have you noticed any correlation between the projects or actions when this occurs? The above error seems to have happened around the same time as the Delphi Compiler action was running - maybe it’s related to that? Do you have a dual cpu machine, or a single CPU with hyperthreading enabled?

cheers,
tate.

Hi Tate,

Until now, I never found a correlation. If it would occur every time I could tell you more, but that’s not the case.I have a CPU with Hyperthreading enabled.

When this occurs again, I will report that in this thread. Maybe after a few times you can find the problem?

Best Regards,

Marco

Hi Marco,

If you can provide us with any more bug reports, that would be great. We can try and work out what the common factor is.

Regards,

Angus

Hello Angus,

As you requested, another log for you. Good luck with finding the problem.

Hi Marco,

Thanks for posting the second bug report. I’ve found and fixed a potential bug with the action message sending in the Delphi Compiler action. A test build will be out shortly (I’ll post here when it is.)

I can’t guarantee that this fixes the problem (because we can’t reproduce the bug here), but if you could please download the build when it becomes available, and try it out, we would appreciate it.

Regards,

Angus

Hi Angus,

I just downloaded the latest release and I’ll try to reproduce the bug. If it reoccurs, I will post it here as soon as possible. Thank you very much for your help so far.

Till now, the error never came back. Looks like the patch fixed it. Tnx!
