SCC (Perforce) with FB6 not working

Hi:

Has anyone else noticed that SCC does not work with FB6 Professional - or is it just me?

It does not find any SCC provider, but under FB5 it does. I am using Perforce (latest release - non-beta)

TIA,

Martin.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for posting, sorry to hear you’re having problems.

Someone else has reported this, but I’m unable to reproduce it here as yet. When I download the latest “p4vinst.exe” from the Perforce web site and install it, the plugin shows up in the list on my test machine.

It’s worth noting that p4winst.exe (ie P4WIN not P4V) doesn’t install the SCC provider (although I don’t know if it ever did.) Although if you see the SCC Provider in FB 5 on the same machine, I guess that’s not the issue.

What operating system are you running on?

If you launch regedit and look under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SourceCodeControlProvider\InstalledSCCProviders, do you see an entry for Perforce SCM? If you’re using an x64 version of Windows, you’ll need to look under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\SourceCodeControlProvider\InstalledSCCProviders

I can confirm. The "Source Control" menu is disabled. If FB5 it was working.

Hi Morten,

Martin responded to me via email and let me know he was using Vista with non-elevated privileges. Is that the same for you?

Angus

I’m able to reproduce the issue under Vista when running without elevation. We should have a fix for this pretty shortly.

That is correct.

Thanks Morten.

The new minor update to FB 6 contains a fix for this issue. You can get it from https://www.finalbuilder.com/download.aspx
