Problem with FB5 on W2K8 64Bit

Hello.

I have installed FinalBuilder 5.5.0.627 on a Windows 2008 64 Bit Server.

There are some Problems with the FinalBuilder5.ini file.

The minor problem is that the "Getting started" wizard promt on every start of the IDE.

The major problem is that FinalBuilder deletes the entry for the robocpy location on every start of the IDE.
After closing the IDE in the C:\ProgramData\VSoft\FinalBuilder5\FinalBuilder5.ini the entry for robocopy.exe is present.
When starting the IDE the entry is removed from the ini file.

Same Problem with other entries, like subversion directory.

It doesn't matter if FB is started as normal user or as administrator, same problems.

Any Ideas to fix this major problem?

Hi Michael

You will need to "Run as Administrator" when configuring FB5 on Vista or Server 2008. The problem is the "virtualisation" of certain folders on windows when not running as administrator.

FB5 predate's Server 2008, we did a lot more work to make FB6 behave better under vista and server 2008.

Hi Vincent,

as I wrote in my posting, "Run as Administrator" won't work.

Also when I write the settings manually in the ini file, starting FinalBuilder always removes the entries.

I won't belief that this is a virtualisation issue, because the ProgramData folder is intended for writing by the application I think.

Concerning the update to FB6:
We have the most scripts working with FB4, only some scripts that builds with Delphi2007 are working with FB5.
When we will updating to FB6, what is about support for the new Delphi2009? Will it be available in FB6 or maybe in FB7?

Michael

Michael - D2009 support is already in FinalBuilder 6.

OK, that's fine. I think we will upgrade in the near future.

But until the upgrade I must get the script running.

I searched the whole drive for finalbuilder5.ini (found it at 4 places) and placed the settings for robocopy and subversion in it. But after starting FB5 the settings are removed and the script won't work because th settings are missing.

Is there an other ini file that is copied over the finalbuilder5.ini when starting FB5?

Michael
