Problem Running the new PSExec action

Hi,

I set up the PSExec action, entered all the necessary fields (program, remote computer, start in folder, username, password), configured it in Tools->Options, but I get a validation error when running it… the problem is, it doesn’t say what is the error, I just get redirected to the validation panel and it lists the action without saying what’s wrong.

I’m pretty stuck with it now.
Please help
Thanks,
NirS

NirS,

If you leave all fields empty except for Program File, does it work then?

It didn’t help
BUT
I took the project from the ‘production’ machine to my laptop and tried to run the same psexec action and here I got a validation error which says:

"Error Validating action: Error executing script : OnValidate FB50ActionCtx.FBPropertyStoreImpl Property PsToolsPath does not exist! In Package Common Script, Line: 60 Char : 3"

So there seems to be three problems here:
1. This error (I think all the required fields are ok).
2. The fact that the message doesn’t show on the other machine (Win 2000)
3. The fact that I can’t copy paste this message from the validation panel .

Hi Nir,

Do you have Peter Thornquist’s third party PsTools package installed as well? It looks like it might cause a namespace conflict with the FinalBuilder PsTools options.

Otherwise, the error your describing indicates a more serious FinalBuilder bug, or something which has broken in your installation. Can you see and use the PsTools options page OK (ie when you set an option on that page, does it save?)

Hi,

The problem was indeed the custome PsTools action. I removed it from the Package Manager and it works. The probelm is that now if I save the project, all the old PStools action will disappear, so I have to replace all of them before saving.

Thanks,

Hi Nir,

I uploaded a new version of Peter’s PsTools package yesterday, which does not conflict. If you download and install it, you’ll be able to keep using your old PsTools actions.

Thanks Angus,

I’ve already removed the old Pstools actions and migrated to the new one.
