is there any action to print a document? I need to convert a word document into a pdf one (using a PDF printer driver) without passing through an RTF file.

No, we don’t have any print actions sorry. You should be able to find a way to do this, a quick google found this :

Just FYI, we do have one recently added action for printing PDFs, however that won’t help you with your Word doc conversion.
