I know all of you have been busy on this product for quite some time. I look forward to seeing what you all have produced.
Thanks Robert, it’s been a long hard slog. We wanted to make sure we got the architecture right from the start, so that we have something we can easily extend. There’s still a long way to go to get to what our vision for the product is, but there’s enough there to make it ready to use now. There’s one minor thing we need to do to our build process on Tuesday morning and then we should be able to get a beta build out (assuming that minor thing doesn’t turn out to be a big deal).
On Wed night we had a test machine continually running multiple concurrent builds, it managed to get through 30K builds in the space of 14hrs without a single error, until I stopped it and ran a cleanup cycle (removing old builds/artifacts etc)… showed up a major performance issue with Nhibernate deletes. Of course it’s unrealistic that anyone would have 30K builds to cleanup in one go, but still it’s something we need to look at.
