If this information is available somewhere else, I apologize.
Currently we are using Jenkins as our CI framework and have 3 nodes (1 master, 2 slaves). Finalbuilder is installed on each node.
For Continua CI, I understand that the licensing is according to concurrent builds, so if I purchase a license for 10 concurrent builds, it would allow me to install it on 1 to 10 (or more I guess) machines and the number of builds running across all machines would be constrained to no more than a total of 10 at any given time.
My main question is do I still need to also have a Finalbuilder license on each of those machine, or is Continua CI capable of running the Finalbuilder scripts?
The answer is that Finalbuilder needs to be installed on each agent machine.
This is one area that I would like to see VSoft consider a change. It would be nice to offer a limited license version (e.g. FBCMD only) for executing Finalbuilder scripts. $600 per build machine is a hefty price.
If you purchase a license 10 concurrent builds you can install an agent on as many machines as you like(the same applies if you only buy one concurrent license). If your builds need FinalBuilder then yes it still needs to be installed on those machines. One of the things we are working on for FinalBuilder 8 is tighter integration with ContinuaCI, and a cheaper license for installation on ContinuaCI agents is very much on the cards.
