Hi Here are my observations/questions from today:
I was trying to get Continua working with our AD but unsuccessfully.I installed continua on Win2K3, therefore using IIS6. Is IIS6 supported forthis feature. This time I looked in the documentation and couldn’t findanything.
I configured IIS6 (ContinuaCI site) to use IntegratedWindows authentication. Updated Continua.Server.Service.exe.config file. ()
Created LDAPGroup and picked the right LDAP Group from thedrop-down menu. Associated LDAPgroup with Administators group.
But I wasn’t able to login using mydomain.com credentials.
Am I missing some steps here? Thank you.
While doing all this I ran into following:
When I was creating users, I was typing password without capitalletter. The dialog did not give me any warning. I just couldn’t save the password.I didn’t realize what was going on until I looked at the Event Log. It would be nice to have a warning on thedialog, similar what we see now if we miss a filed.
When associating groups, I accidently created crossreference. I assigned LDAPGroup to be a member of Administrator group, andAdministrator group to be a member of LDAPGroup. This totally crashed the ContinuaCIAplication Service. The service couldn’t start anymore.
I fixed it by going directly to the SQL, and deletingoffending entries from the tables. I understand I made a mistake here, but Continuaprobably shouldn’t have crashed like this. There are nicer ways to deal withsimilar situations.
Application:Continua.Server.Service.exe
FrameworkVersion: v4.0.30319
Description:The process was terminated due to stack overflow.
In general my colleagues and I like Continua CI and willcontinue to test this beta version to make sure it meets our requirements(Using LDAP is one of them).
Thank you.
