FinalBuilder hangs on closure

Sometimes, after a project has successfully been built, I close FB and it hangs on closure. This happens on two computers:

1) XP SP3 with AMD64 CPU.

2) XPx64 SP2 with Quad Core CPU.

In the first case FB was eating 100% CPU until killed via the Task Manager. In the second case it is eating 25% CPU (one core), once again, until killed. There seems to be an infinite loop somewhere in the termination code.

This happens roughly in 15-30% of all sessions, i.e. most of the time FB terminates normally, however sometimes (and quite frequently) it just hangs. There is no anti-virus nor firewall installed on these machines that could interfere.

If I can provide additional information, please let me know.

P.S. FB 6.3.0.1816, older versions affected as well.

Hi Andrey

Shutodown issues can be very difficult to diagnose. Please contact support at finalbuilder dot com and send your project file so we can see if we can reproduce the issue. The most common culprit is a corrupt log file, however if you are seeing it on multiple machines then it’s likely something else. If you run the project using FBCmd does it complete and shutdown ok?

Hi Vincent,

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am not sure about FBCmd as FB happens to hang occasionally. That’s why sending a project file to you doesn’t make sense, it randomly hangs with several projects created at a different time. Next time it happens, I will attach a debugger to FB and report my findings here.

Andrey.
