FinalBuilder 5 Release Candidate

Hi all,

The beta is looking very solid, so we've decided to turn it into a Release Candidate.

https://www.finalbuilder.com/downloads/finalbuilder/500/FB500_37.exe

Please report any bugs to support at finalbuilder dot com

NOTES: FB5 works alongside all previous version of FinalBuilder, and will open your existing project files (but you must save them in the new format).

The list of what's new is here:
https://www.finalbuilder.com/finalbuilder/whats-new-in-finalbuilder-5

Thanks!

Feel free to "Mark" it at BetaMarker:

cheers,

Hi,

I encoutered and Access violation when trying to check out the FB project from Perforce right after I checked it in successfully. The error message is in the attached zip file. The check out was not done. I also attaches the p4SCC log. Only the end of the log file is relevant. The action on 18:42 timestamp is the check out (seems ok) The one in 18:41 is the check in.

Other than that I ran one of my most heavy with XML actions project and it ran successfully several times. I will run my other projects tomorrow.

HI NirS,

What happened if you tried to check the file out a second time? Or perform any other Perforce SCC actions? Have you managed to check a file out at all?

I’ll endeavour to get a Perforce client set up here, so that I can do some tests.

Hi again Nir,

I just tried to reproduce this on our Perforce VM and everything seems to work as it should. Are you able to reproduce the problem? If so, what version of Perforce are you using?

Regards,

Angus

Yes unfortunately it still happens. When I try to Get Latest (not check out) I’m getting an Access Violation in p4scc.dll (the Perforce SCC Provider DLL). I’m using the latest P4 Client and SCC (they released a patch for the SCC some 3 weeks ago, please make sure u download the latest version)
The p4SCC.dll version is 2006.1.10.5584.

Just to mention the P4 SCC integration works with other IDEs on my machine.

NirS

Also now I got a FinalBuilder error when I closed the application (after trying to check out, get latest, unbind etc.)

Nir,

I reproduced the problem with the latest version. As far as I can tell this is a bug of some kind in the P4 SCC plugin. I’ve emailed the Perforce support people about the issue, hopefully they’ll get back to me.

Regards,

Angus

Hi Nir,

According to Perforce support “FinalBuilder is not a supported integration” but they’re looking into it. I’ll let you know if/when I hear back from them.

- Angus

Thanks much for the update.

Hi Nir,

I heard back from the Perforce developers last week and they have been very helpful in working with us. The bug was in FinalBuilder’s SCC integration code. We’ll have a fix in a test build very shortly (unfortunately, I just missed hearing back from them in time for 5.0 final.)

Regards,

Angus

Thanks very much, they are indeed very helpful usually (just like you guys )

Thanks,
NirS

Hi Nir,

Here’s a link to the test build with the fix:

Please let us know how you go.

Seems to work fine.
Now I just have to get budget for the upgrade

Thanks!
