it would be handy if you could click the stages in the activity view seperatly (with some hover effect) instead of showing the build overview. so you will come directly to the build view focusing the log entry of that stage (like clicking the stage buttons in the build view).
additionally when clicking a stage not yet promoted, a quick promote (popup or something else) should be possible, so you dont have to go to the build view and then press "promote".
currently pressing the stages in activity view has the following targets (remember, there is only one link for all stages right now):
- all stages completed: build details - one stage with error: build timeline (why not log of failed stage?) - one stage not promoted: build details
Each Stage button do currently link to different pages according to the Stage status as follows
Stage failed -> links to build log with this stage expanded so you can see when to has failed
Stage errored -> links to timeline to show error details
Other stage status -> links to build details page
As the build number currently links to the build details page, it does make sense to link stage buttons for other status to the expanded build log view. We also like the idea of having a promote button popup when hovering over a stage waiting for promotion.
That’s ok, we appreciate the feedback. We certainly want to improve the product and welcome any suggestions. I’m not promising that everything will be implemented, but we certainly discuss every feature request here when they come in.
