FB6 Action Studio error when running on Windows 2003 Server

I am having a problem with opening action studio on a machine installed with Windows Server 2003. The error that I am getting is “Not enough storage is available to process this command.” Any ideas?

I have attached a bug report.

Hi Nicholas,

It looks like your system may have run out of available handles. Windows only has a certain number of some types of handles, and if an application badly leaks handles then the system can run out of them.

It’s possible that ActionStudio is leaking handles, but just as likely that something else on the machine caused the problem (especially has Action Studio had just started up.) Does rebooting the machine fix the problem?

Angus

Angus,

I think Finalbuilder6.exe is the culprit because when I reboot I can open action studio with no problems and work in it but if I open Finalbuilder IDE before opening action studio I get the out of resources error.

Could Finalbuilder6.exe have the memory leak?

Hi Nicholas,

Thanks for your reply. It’s possible FB 6 is causing it, but I’m unable to reproduce it here or on a test virtual machine under 2003 Server. Please let us know if you find any steps to reproduce. Do you do anything at all with FinalBuilder, or just open it and then open ActionStudio?

Angus

Angus,

I have sorted the problem, the issue was with the Graphics card driver, NVidia does not support Windows 2003 drivers so I had to use an XP driver which was causing the resource problems. The card has been changed to an ATI card and the problem has gone away. Thanks for your help.

Cheers
Nick
