FB problem after Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 install

Hello,

On my system FinalBuilder 6.3.0.1712 is broken after Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 installation.

Error Message 1:

.Net Framework Initialisation Error

Unable to fin a version of the runtime to run this application.

Error Message 2:

Unable to start Finalbuilder:

Unable to start the .NET CLR - Finalbuilder requires at least version 2.0 of the framework

Thanks for looking into this,

Alex

The problem is that the .net 4.0 framework build number has changed. This is only an issue during the beta, it doesn’t change once released. To work around this, open the DotNetConfig.xml in the FinalBuilder installation folder and edit the entry for .net 4.0 to look like this :

v4.0.21006v4.0.210062.0SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\WinSDK-NetFx40ToolsInstallationFolderSOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\WinSDK-NetFx35ToolsInstallationFolderv2.0

Thanks for the workaround. This is great support!

Currently the “Use MSBuild” option is not working for VS.NET 2010 in the “Build VS.Net Solution” action. Could this be fixed?

Thanks,
Alex

Is Final Builder already 100% compatible with visual studio 2010 and team foundation server 2010?

thanks,
Emanuele

Hello?

Hi Alexander,

Sorry for the delay, I haven’t been able to reproduce the problem you’re having, could you send in the output from the action when using, and when not using the ‘Use MSBuild’ option.

Regards,
Paul.

Hi Emanuele,

The support for Visual Studio 2010 in FinalBuilder is based on the pre-release versions of Visual Studio 2010 which means the action may or may not be 100% compatible with 2010 when it’s released but we’ll strive to get an update out ASAP if it’s not.

Regards,
Paul.

Hello Paul,

Installing the latest version on my brand new machine resolved the problem, so it was probably me. Sorry.

Alex
