Display “Activity”, “History”, “Metrics log for each “Repository Branches / Tags”

Dear Sir/Madam

We have different “Repository Branches / Tags” for each of our “Configurations” in "Continua". Is it possible to view the “Activity”, “History”, “Metrics” logs separately for each “Repository Branches / Tags”?

The display of combined “Configuration” logs is not very informative to use. We would prefer logs about separate “Repository Branches / Tags” builds. The reason is simple, if the “Nightly Test” build fails for a couple of times there is no reason to worry, however the “Nightly Release Candidate” build should succeed as often as possible. At the moment we have quite often a failure rate of around 50 %: “Test” fails but “Release Candidate” passes.

It would also be helpful if such differentiation could be configured on the “Home” and/or the “Project” page so that developers can have a very quick overview if critical “Branches” are passing or failing.

Thanks a lot for your help and best regards,

Philippe

Hi Phillipe,

Thank you for this feature request. I’ll add to our feature list for investigation - perhaps we could introduce some filtering on the configuration page in the future. Note however that we currently have more high priority features to work on than we have resources available.

At the moment, the recommended way to deal with your situation is to use multiple configurations. We use a different configuration for each deployment type (Development, Beta and Release) and set up branch patterns to map the relevant repository branches to these configurations. We don’t worry if the Development configuration fails, but any failures on the Beta and Release configuration require out immediate attention.

We plan to implement configuration templates in the future. This will make dealing with multiple configurations a lot easier, allowing you to edit the base actions in one place.
