Delete Tree Error

I've been using Finalbuilder for sometime without problem.

Since the new year I now get the following error message when using 'Delete tree'

Error deleting file/folder: System Error. Code: 5.

Access is denied

Unable to delete directory : c:\s_BuildImages\SoftEdit\

Is this a general problem or how would I find a fix? I'm using Windows XP with all the latest upgrades.

Hi Jon

Which version/build of FinalBuilder are you using? I made some changes to work around that issue late last year. This build from today has those changes included :

https://www.finalbuilder.com/downloads/finalbuilder/620/FB620_1232.exe

FWIW, the changes were to add a slight delay after deleting a sub folder before attempting to delete the parent folder. It seems the windows api doesn’t keep up with itself when deleting folders recursively. This also started happening more often with later XP updates, I never did figure out which update caused the problem though… far too many to test!

Hello Vincent,

I'm tracking this down and and now realise FinalBuilder isn't the cause.

I added some additional files with long filenames and it appears an additional program I'm using is also having problems.

The program is xrdw (eXtended Remove Directory)
