Could not establish connection to IIS server. Invalid namespace

I'm evaluating FB at the moment and I cannot get the IIS tasks to work.

I'm running on 64bit Windows 7 with IIS 7.5 and when I add an application pool task I cannot connect to IIS to obtain the list of application pools and when I manually enter an app. pool name and try to run the task I get the error: Could not establish connection to IIS server. Invalid namespace

I've tried leaving everything blank and entering host name an credentials, but neither work.

Any ideas?

Nick

Hi Nick,

Can you check and make sure you have the ‘IIS Management Scripts and Tools’ option installed on the machine (Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows features on or off).

Regards,
Paul.

They were not installed, but installing them just changed the error at runtime to

Could not ‘Stop’ the application pool. Provider load failure

OK. I can run the task if I run FB as administrator, but I still can't connect to get the list of Application Pools when editing the task.

I really don't want to run FB as administrator, can you suggest any workaround?

Hi Nick,

Sorry Nick, we can not workaround this as it’s a security feature of Windows.

Does this still occur when running as administrator? What is the error message that you receive?

Paul.
