We are still using Wise InstallBuilder to compile our projects. I have a project that runs through the FinalBuilder Server and if everything is not correct with the installation script, the project will run indefinitely. In your help file it states:

NOTE: The Wise compiler does not return a non zero return code when an error occurs during compilation. This means that FinalBuilder has no way of detecting if the compile of the installer failed or not. Usually Wise displays a message box when an error occurred.

Does anyone know of a way to make this timeout?

Thanks,

Nick Vaughan

If you’re using FinalBuilder 6 then you could use the Execute Program action which allows you to set a timeout. If the actions runs for this lenght of time then it fails the action.
