# Windows Installer - Install

Hi, I'm very new to FinalBuilder and I understood I could use it to run an .MSI on a remote machine.

I'm using the "Windows Installer - Install" action and have the package location pointing to a location on my FB server.

I then fill in the details on the WMI connection tab with the Remote Machine details.

When I run this action I get

"Failed to install MSI&nbsp;Package. The system cannot find the path specified."

I've tried all sorts of flavours for the package location such as mapping a drive, inputting the path as if&nbsp;I was on the remote machine, entering the path as a UNC path, etc but I get the same error.

Can anyone tell me how to get this working?

Hi Jon   
  
 When using the Windows Installer action to install a package on a remote machine, the path to the package must be in a location accessible to the remote machine.   
  
 Does this work if you copy the MSI to C:\Temp on the remote machine, update the action accordingly and then run the action from FinalBuilder?

Many thanks Steve. I had originally put it on the D: drive (and this didn’t work), but for some reason putting it in C:\TEMP worked.
