# Variable name autocomplete

I know this one is hard to get right, so I’m not complaining too much. Anyway, there’s an annoying bug in how the autocomplete works.
1) Enter “quick brown lazy fox and lots of important text ending in a %variable%” into a text field somewhere
2) Between “quick” and “brown” add a couple of spaces, and in the middle, start typing the name of an existing variable: "quick %COMP brown lazy…"
3) From the drop down list, select COMPUTERNAME
4) The text field now erases all text leading up to the next %: "quick %COMPUTERNAME%variable%"
I get the feeling this changed recently, as previously adding spaces then editing within there was a pretty safe way to use autocomplete.

More weirdness. If you manually type out the variable %COMPUTERNAME% instead of selecting it from the autocomplete in the above scenario, you will end up with an error: "Variable : brown does not exist!"

Thanks. I know Vincent has done some work on this recently (he’s currently at CeBIT Australia.) Which build of FB are you using?
