# Validate Variables

I'm having to "fix" a project where my variables were lost.&nbsp; It would be nice to have a menu option that provided me a list of variables that are referenced in action properties (and possibly script events) but are not in the project.&nbsp; Even better should be a check list that allowed me to select that ones that I wanted created.&nbsp; Nothing extra beyond creation, as I'd be happy to go into Edit Variables to change the details.

Or perhaps the feature could be a button in Edit Variables itself.&nbsp; Hmm.

Anyway, I understand why Validate Project does not do this, as the variables may be project variables that are stored in a parent project.&nbsp; This is another reason that the future should let me select which variables to create.

Further to this it would be great if ‘rename variable’ renamed ALL occurrences of the variable - as without the features listed above it is a pain trying to find where a variable is used to change it to the new name
