# Unable to open project

I have problem with project which was working nicely yesterday but today…  
  
"Unable to open project …  
Error: An invalid character was found in text content …"  
  
I admit I have saved some special characters in project but it worked. Well at least until close and open. Hope you can help me…

Hi Peter,  
  
Yes, must be some strange characters that are stuffing up the xml parsing. If it’s a .fbp4 file, then you can open it up directly in a text editor, if it’s a .fbz4 then you can change the extension to .zip and open it up and edit the file within. You’ll need to remove those weird characters. Make sure you make a backup before editing the files. If you like you can send the file (support at finalbuilder dot com) to us to fix, but we won’t be able to do it until early next week.  
  
(btw. your version is a bit old… we’re now up to 4.2.0.267)

Could you send us the broken project as well, please? Or do you know which characters were corrupting the file? We’ll fix it so that it can’t corrupt itself any more.
