# Signing a file list and description

We’re currently migrating our signing process to signotaur.
Some of our file signatures need a description. Due to factors out of our Control we need to use the --fl parameter to sign a file list in a single request.
Is there any way to specify individual descriptions when signing a file list?

There is currently no way to provide separate descriptions for a file list. I’ll have a look and see if there is anything we can do about that, it might need a separate option - perhaps taking a list in the format
```auto
filename1=description1
filename2=description2
```

Hi Christoph,
We released [v1.0.0.423](https://www.finalbuilder.com/downloads/signotaur/signotaur-version-history-v1) last week which includes an update to the file format for the [–file-list parameter](https://docs.finalbuilder.com/sn/1.0/client/sign-command.html) to allow a description (and URL) per file pattern.
