# Runtime request: Log timing to variable

I have the same requirement as someone has posted [www.finalbuilder.com/forums.aspx](https://www.finalbuilder.com/forums.aspx?aff=1&aft=8691&afv=topic), I'm not a fan of either of the proposed solutions.

Essentially on the runtime -\> timing properties, I'd like the option to log action built time to variable.

Extending this feature further to include child elements timings would allow me to measure the time taken to execute a number of actions within an action group.

Capturing timings is quite an important of our build/testing procedure, the easier it is to extract build timings the better!
