# Problems editing user variables

Hi,

I've been having a problem editing user variables from my scripts. If I have a user variable with a default value, and attempt to set it in a script the variable changes value for the duration of the script, but does not change permanently.

How do I get it so that the change is permanent?

Hi Mat,   
  
 You will need to change the variable to be “Persistent” variable (this can be done from the Edit Variable dialog).
