# Know the file path of focused file

I need to know the file path of file icon that is currently focused on the desktop. Is this possible with Automise? The idea is to zip the focused file with some hot key. I know how to zip the file and create a hot key - but cant get the file path of the focused file. Please help.

Hi Vikas,
I don’t know any way to do that, sorry. You could probably create a little Windows shell extension (something like what Tate was talking about in the reply to your other post) to right click any file on the desktop and invoke Automise, passing in the path then.
