# Filespec option in Perforce Submit

Hi,

I noticed this comment in the release notes for FB 6.2.0.1265

**Bug - Perforce Submit - Variables can now be used in FileSpec field.**

Can you give some examples of what should work in that field?

I tried Perforce style filters (//depot/Foo/...) and paths with wildcards but couldn't get either to work.

Is it only to be used to filter by file extention? (e.g. \*.txt)

 Yes, only file specs are supported (such as _.txt, or File_.txt). The fix ‘Variables can now be used in FileSpec field’ relates to the use of FinalBuilder variables in the FileSpec field (i.e. %MyFileSpec%).
