Sorry if this is listed in a feature matrix somwhere but are there any distributed build features in FB5? I’d like to employ a server farm to field builds. Is there anything in FB5 which might aid me in distrubuting those builds across the farm according to (for example) current load or assignment?

Thanks.

Hi Jeff

No, nothing like that at this stage. We are working on a server version which will eventually have the ability to do distributed builds that is still some way off being completed.

Any experience distributing builds using one of your “partner” products such as Cruise Control (or [CC.Net](http://CC.Net))?

Sure, hardware is significantly cheaper but I’d like to institute virtualization as well as some physical partitioning to speed up the process (unit testing, standards checking, code coverate, etc.). Some of the tasks must be sequential but others could be in parallel and distributed.

There don’t seem to be many [tools](http://www.digitalsanctum.com/2006/09/28/top-5-distributed-build-servers/) out there for this but I have to believe there’s a market. I look forward to the FB distributed solution.

Thanks.
