# Delete Folder action [performance?]

My site just migrated from FB Build 1047 to FB Build 1272. One byproduct is that Delete Folder action used to be instantanous, now it takes over 20 minutes. That's a significant increase in the overall build time. The folder is quite large 60GB, 170K files, 12K folders. My guess is this came about becuase of the enhancement described [here](https://www.finalbuilder.com/forums.aspx?aff=1&aft=8713&afv=topic). The "old" Folder Delete action implementation never seemed to cause me any issues. Is it possible to make the sub-folder delete latency an option? Or am I missing something important?

Hi Dar
We reverted the change this week due to another user reporting a major performance issue. The delay was put in due to random issue with vista thinking folders cannot be deleted, the api call fails but if called again after a short delay it works fine. There is no an option to turn this delay on, it is off by default. This test build has the change :

Tested 1299. The delete now takes 4+ minutes. Much better.
