# Copy/Paste variable error

When a variable is copy/pasted in the variable editor (either between project/user pager or different projects) the variable is pasted as a group.

Steps:

- start Finalbuilder
- create new project
- open variable editor
- create new project variable
- copy variable via context menu
- switch to user variable
- paste variable via context menu

Exp: user variable is displayed and editable

Act: a group is pasted instead

Workaround: Close and reopen the variable editor
