# Change exe file version

Is possible to change exe file version in an existing exe file?

Hello.  
  
This is the workflow we need:  
  
- Compile our app (EXE)  
- Generate SFX with winrar (EXE)  
- Copy the properties from our app (EXE) to the SFX file (EXE). At least, we need to set the file version.  
  
We have completed all the tasks except the last one.  
We would like to know if exists a task in FinalBuilder to change the version of an EXE file.

It’s possible with external tools, FinalBuilder doesn’t currently support doing this directly.Something like this would probably do what you need - [http://ddverpatch.codeplex.com/](http://ddverpatch.codeplex.com/)
