# Add output variable to Git List Branches

One can set all sorts of options for Git List Branches, but there is no way to cleanly capture the output as a list. I finally resorted to capturing the ouput via Runtime/Logging Properties/Log to Variable and then having to do quite a bit of additional work just to get the branch list. Easy in code, but not so easy via actions.

I’ll upload a new build shorty that will respect the quiet option and not log the commend line or working directory or Success at the end.
