# A better way to backup sqlserver than "SQL Server Backup Database"

I always seem to run into issues with this. (my error is below).&nbsp; I&nbsp;dont remember finding some work around, but just wondering if there is a better way to do it.

c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Binn\sqlmaint.exe returned : 1

The SQLDMO 'Application' object failed to initialize (specific error: One of the library files needed to run this application cannot be found.

 Seems to be related to having upgraded from an earlier version if sql server.

ORCSWeb manages my web servers and sqlserver for me. I sent them the error and they resolved it and sent me the following note:   
  
 Hi Peter,   
  
 It looks like final builder must use a legacy format for maintenance plans (SQL 2005 and earlier) and that is why the error was being thrown. I installed SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility which will allow your SQL server to run previous versions of maintenance plans.
