Canberra, Australia. March 30, 2006 -- FinalBuilder 4.1, a free update for existing FinalBuilder 4 customers, adds a number of new capabilities and enhancements to the FinalBuilder user interface.
Among these changes, FinalBuilder 4.1 adds integration with the following products: Microsoft VirtualServer, VMWare Server, Seapine QA Wizard, and CodeHealer from SOCK Software, as well as updated support for Microsoft TeamSystem, Subversion, StarTeam and TeamCoherence.
A new set of actions have also been added called FileSets. These new actions allow the build project to create a set of files based on many criteria which can then be used in other actions. Creating a FileSet is done by using one or more include patterns, and optionally exclude patterns, and then a set of filters which allow very fine grained control over which files are included in the FileSet. An example might be: recursively select all files with the name *.cs, excluding AssemblyInfo.cs, and only include files that are not ReadOnly, modifed after yesterday and at least 5kb in size. This set of files can then be used in other actions - for example the files found can then be FTP'd or checked into version control.
Other new features in FinalBuilder 4.1 include the new RasDial action and a set of COM+ actions. The RasDial action can be used to automatically connect or disconnect to a remote network, including a VPN. The new COM+ actions include the following functionality: Shutdown COM+ Application, Register COM+ Application, Start COM+ Application, Edit COM+ Application, and Delete COM+ Appliation.
Some of the user interface enhancements for version 4.1 include the ability to filter the log by a certain action and being able to undelete actions.
